Each baby is welcomed to White Memorial by a home visit from the church. Monthly for the first year, we provide information which includes topics on nurturing your child in our faith tradition, developmental milestones, and various parenting tips that can assist families as they welcome their new bundle of joy. White Memorial always wants to welcome babies and their families to church for worship, study and fellowship.

Engaged Disciples Ministry

"Building Joyful Servants" - that is what Engaged Disciples Ministry (EDM) is all about. We do that by helping every friend and member of the congregation find places to serve and be served. This focus is grounded in the understanding that all who follow Jesus are ministers in his name. It is EDM's mission to help you identify your ministry.
Much of what EDM does is about connecting. Connecting people to other people and connecting people to ministries. EDM seeks to connect visitors by welcoming newcomers and inviting them into our life together. We also help connect new members through the Beginnings class and Congregational Guides. Every friend and member can seek help from EDM to become connected to ministries within and beyond WMPC. The Spiritual Gifts class is a first phase of that connection; interviews and conversations will help you find the right place for you to put your gifts to work. EDM also plans and often delivers the Invitation to Discipleship during worship, helping to direct you to specific opportunities for discipleship. Every other year we sponsor monthly Spotlight Sundays to give you a face-to-face way to explore some of those opportunities. And every two years we sponsor a Ministry Fair where representatives from all kinds of agencies and ministries are available for you to meet.
If you'd like EDM to help you become a more joyful servant, or if you want to help EDM in its ministry, contact us!
