Boy Scouts and Webelos

WMPC is the chartered organization for Boy Scout Troop 395 (“Troop 395”) of the Boy Scouts of America (“Boy Scouts”) and associated Webelos Pack 395 (“Pack 395”), with a history of serving its members and the community at large through Scouting. In keeping with this history, WMPC and the adult leadership of Troop 395 and Pack 395 (the “Committee”) welcome applications for admittance from and admit any eligible youth, subject to capacity constraints.

Boy Scouts
Troop 395 meets in Pickard Hall on Tuesdays from 7:30-9:00 p.m. during the school year except on days when Wake County Public Schools are closed.

Troop 395 is a large and active troop, and many of our Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout. In addition to meeting weekly, Troop 395 sponsors numerous events and outing each year, which often include:

• Service projects such as Stop Hunger Now at WMPC;

• Participation in Scout Sunday at WMPC;

• Camping and swimming at Kerr Lake;

• Beach camping and fishing;

• Backpacking and hiking at various State Parks;

• Camping and cycling on the New River Trail;

• Summer Camp at Camp Raven Knob;

• High Adventure at Philmont (New Mexico), Sea Base (Florida) and Northern Tier (Minnesota).

If interested in joining in the Fall of 2014, please complete an application attached {here}, and mail it and a deposit check to John Dempster at 3408 Lubbock Drive, Raleigh, NC 27612.  Note that due to capacity constraints and to help with planning, fall enrollment for Boy Scouts is taking place between April 14, 2014 and May 16, 2014. Find enrollment forms here.

If you have any questions regarding the Troop or would like more information about the enrollment process, please contact Julian Bossong, the Chartered Organization Liaison. He can explain the admittance procedures for Troop 395 and Pack 395 and/or direct you to the appropriate Committee contact.

Webelos
Pack 395 meets in the Knox Building (K305) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays during the school year except on days when Wake County Public Schools are closed. Pack 395 is a large and active pack, and each year, many of its fifth grade Webelos end up bridging into Troop 395 as Scouts.

Webelos Pack 395 is accepting new 4th graders through its fall enrollment from August 4 to September 5. Please note that the first year Webelos group will be capped at 16. Per the troop enrollment policies, current members of White Memorial or brothers of current Webelos/Boy Scouts already in Troop 395 will receive first priority, followed by grandchildren of members.

Unfortunately, there is no opportunity to join as a 5th grade Webelos due to size constraints. Matt Walker is the Pack Master. Please feel free to contact him for more details on the Webelos program.

If interested in joining this fall, please complete an application, and mail it and a deposit check to John Dempster at 3408 Lubbock Drive, Raleigh, NC 27612. All completed applications and the check made to “Boy Scout Troop 395” for $90 must be received by John Dempster by 5 p.m. on September 5. If the scout is a sibling of another fellow scout who has paid at the $90 rate, the amount due will be $80.
