Thoughts About the Renovation
Week 24 - September 14-18
Workers have begun installing floor tiles in the sanctuary.
Week 23 - September 7-11
Painting and wiring continues in the sanctuary.
Week 22 - August 30 - September 4
Work continues in the sanctuary. The chancel modifications are underway and trim painting is proceeding.
Week 21 - August 24-28
Work on the renovation continues and preparations for the return of the Weekday School and fall kickoff are proceeding. Spaces are bring cleaned, teachers are returning and classrooms are being set up.
Week 20 - August 17-21
Exterior work on the sanctuary continues. Inside the sanctuary the chancel extension is progressing. Ceiling work after the sprinkler installation is completing. The Weekday School moves back in next week. Erich Thompson completed the wood work on the lecturn and pulpit and returned them for stain and paint.
Week 18 & 19 - August 3-14
Exterior work on the sanctuary continues. Inside the sanctuary the ceiling repair is complete and scaffolding is down. The ceiling in Luther is being replaced after the sprinkler installation is completed. A walkway across the courtyard has been opened.
Week 17 - July 27-31
Exterior work on the sanctuary began. Inside the sanctuary, a second coat of ceiling paint was applied and work began on the ceiling cove.
The sprinkler installation continues in Luther and Knox.
Week 16 - July 20-24
The sprinkler installation continues in Luther and Knox. Ceiling repairs in the sanctuary have been completed and the first coat of paint has been applied.
Week 12 through Week 15 - June 22-July17
Pipe is being installed for sprinklers on the third floor of the Luther Building. Sprinkler installation continues in Luther and Knox.
Week 11 - June 15 - 19
Sprinkler installation for Geneva Hall is complete. Sprinkler installation continues in Knox and Luther Buildings.
Week 10 - June 8 - 12
Work begins on the Sanctuary ceiling and sprinkler installation on the 3rd and 1st floor of the Luther Building.
Week 9 - June 1 - 5
Sprinkler installation completed in Pickard Hall.
Week 8 - May 25 - 29
Sprinkler installation is proceeding.
Week 7 - May 18-22
Work continues. The scaffold platform is ready for ceiling work.
Week 6 - May 10-15
Scaffolding is up. Next the ceiling work begins.
Week 5 - May 4-8
Scaffolding begins going up.
Week 4 - April 27-May 1
The preacher snuffer is down.
Week 3 - April 20-25
Demolition is proceeding. The marble flooring has been removed.
Week 2
Demolition continues in Jane Bell and in the sanctuary.
Week 1
Sanctuary renovations began on April 6. We started by moving furnishing out and then progressed to demolition. The organ is secured, pews have been pulled and the lectern and pulpit have been removed so that they can be refurbished.
