Elementary & Middle School Parents’ Gathering

April 12 5:00 - 7:00 pm

Sunday, April 12
5-7 p.m. | C301

While the kids are at their movie nights and youth group, parents are invited to gather for dinner, fellowship, and a parenting workshop called The Friendship Journey: Supporting Our Children Through Social Growth” led by Laura Brimberry. We’ll order pizza for dinner ($5 per person). Childcare is available in the nursery for children younger than kindergarten. Registration is required and can be found here.

Laura is joining us from Birch Therapy where she serves as the Parent Support Specialist. As a graduate of Rhodes College and after receiving Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, Laura continued her career to include helping parents and families for over 30 years. She has served as a facilitator for Circle of Security Parenting® groups with SAFEChild since 2019, organizing and teaching over 40 parenting groups in the Raleigh area.

As a mother of four children who grew up at WMPC, she has been through the ins and outs of raising four distinctly unique human beings, and yes, everyone survived.  Laura, and her husband Olin, can attest that you can too.  Laura knows all too well that parenting is the deepest joy and greatest challenge of the human experience, one that we need to discuss and support throughout our lives.
