The approaching retirement of our Director of Music, Karl Zinsmeister, at the end of August is a momentous day in our church. We’ll truly miss Karl yet wish him and Lora the very best. A hearty WELL DONE!

Music is as integral to our worship life as prayer, scripture, sermons and community. Karl’s seventeen-year tenure with us has flown by, yet what has been built within this music ministry has grown exponentially under his tutelage. We now have a unique opportunity to examine the role of Director of Music and how it could shape our church’s future.

We want your input. The entire music ministry, made up of dozens of choral, instrumental and staff groups are being directly canvassed on, “What does the role of Director of Music look like as we grow forward?” Now the worship committee wants you, the congregation, to share your ideas, too.

Beginning June 2, immediately following each worship service, members of the worship committee will conduct a series of “listening sessions” in Geneva Hall. This will continue for the following two Sundays until June 16. There will also be two Zoom sessions for your convenience on June 2 and June 16. You can share your ideas on what a Director of Music can do for WMPC…and/or express your thanks for Karl!
